My Sacraments Project

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that Jesus gave us seven Sacraments. These gifts provide grace that we need to get to heaven. The seven sacraments are Baptism, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony and Holy Orders. They can be divided into three groups:
Sacraments of Initiation -these bring us into the Church and establish out relationship with Christ
These sacraments are: Baptism, Holy Communion, Confirmation
The Sacraments of Healing restore our relationship with Christ and give us the strength to go on even in moments of difficulty. These sacraments are: Penance (Reconciliation) and Anointing of the Sick.
Sacraments of Love and Service: Christians are called to serve God in unique ways. Some through Marriage and some through Holy Orders.
We receive some sacraments only once and other sacraments at certain stages of our life. These sacraments (like Baptism, Marriage Confirmation and Holy Orders) serve as significant spiritual milestones and show that we have reached a certain point in our religious development. Some sacraments(like Eucharist and Reconciliation), we continue to receive throughout our lives. These sacraments help us maintain our relationship with Christ and others.
The Sacraments are the lifeline of every Christian and necessary for our spiritual well-being. Browse through the pages of this site to get a better understanding of why the Sacraments are so important to us!
